Juan Luis Goldenberg S.

Counsel

Mr. Goldenberg holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Salamanca (Spain) and a Law Degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He regularly serves as Counsel at Morales & Besa, where he began his professional career, specializing in insolvency and finance matters.

He is a Full Professor in the Departments of Private Law and Economic, Commercial and Tax Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he teaches Civil Law and Insolvency Law. He is the author of several publications on insolvency law, including La subordinación voluntaria de créditos (2011), La visión privatista del Derecho concursal (2015), La protección financiera concursal (2020), El sobreendeudamiento del consumidor (2021), and Las Acciones Revocatorias Concursales (2026), as well as more than one hundred articles and book chapters on civil and commercial law matters. He is regarded as one of Chile’s leading authorities on insolvency law. In its 2025 edition, Best Lawyers recognized him as Lawyer of the Year in Chile for Insolvency and Reorganization Law.

He served as legislative counsel to the former Superintendency of Bankruptcy during the legislative process leading to the enactment of the current Insolvency and Re-Entrepreneurship Law, and subsequently advised the new Superintendency of Insolvency and Re-Entrepreneurship on the implementation of the law. He is frequently invited to appear before the Chilean Senate in connection with proposed amendments to insolvency legislation.

He has professional experience in both Chile and the United Kingdom and has participated in various domestic and international proceedings.

He rejoined Morales & Besa in 2025.
