Juan Luis Goldenberg S.
Counsel
Mr. Goldenberg holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Salamanca (Spain) and a Law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He currently serves as Counsel at Morales & Besa, the firm where he began his professional career, specializing in insolvency and finance-related matters.
He is a Full Professor in the Departments of Private Law and Economic, Commercial and Tax Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he teaches Civil Law and Insolvency Law. A prominent voice in Chile on insolvency matters, he is the author of several key works in the field, including La subordinación voluntaria de créditos (2011), La visión privatista del Derecho concursal (2015), La protección financiera concursal (2020), and El sobreendeudamiento del consumidor (2021), in addition to more than one hundred articles and book chapters on civil and commercial law. He was recognized by Best Lawyers, 2025 edition, as Chile’s Lawyer of the Year in Insolvency and Reorganization.
He served as a legislative advisor to the former Bankruptcy Superintendency during the parliamentary process of the current Insolvency and Re-entrepreneurship Law, and later as an advisor to the new Superintendency of Insolvency and Re-entrepreneurship for its implementation. He is frequently invited to the Chilean Senate to contribute to discussions on amendments to insolvency legislation.
Mr. Goldenberg has professional experience both in Chile and the United Kingdom, having participated in various national and international proceedings.
