JUAN LUIS GOLDENBERG S. Associate
Mr. Goldenberg concentrates his practice in banking, financial, commercial and insolvency regulation.
He has participated in several banking and financial transactions, including syndicated loans, structured financings, project finance and local and international capital market transactions. Mr. Goldenberg has advised both banks and financial institutions and borrowers in these transactions.
He has also advised local and international clients in merger and acquisition and insolvency matters.
Education
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Law, L.C.J.S., graduated magna cum laude (2001). Received the "Fernando Rozas Vial" award for best student in Civil Law. He also received recognition by the Ministry of Justice (2002), due to his outstanding professional pro-bono practice. Admitted to the Chilean Bar (2002).
Economy and Finances for Lawyers Program at Universidad Gabriela Mistral (2006).
Degree of Salamanca (2008), granted by the University of Salamanca, Spain. Extraordinary Award for his thesis “Subordinated financing”.
PhD in Law (2010), as part of his Doctoral Studies at the University of Salamanca, Spain (in the context of the course “Principles and Basis for Updating Property Law). For this purpose, he was awarded with a scholarship by the National Committee for Scientific and Technological Research (Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (Conycit)) (2007).
Work abroad
Legal assistant at the Financial Restructurings and Insolvency Department at the London office of White & Case LLP (2010 – 2011).
Academic activities
Civil Law professor (2011 - ) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Also, he is part of the faculty of the PhD in Law program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
