GUILLERMO MORALES E. Partner
Guillermo Morales represents principals in major corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, project financing, international corporate debt restructurings and public and private securities issuances.
He has extensive experience advising investment banks and companies in structuring and executing complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, debt issuances and corporate restructurings, and is also very active in the energy field, especially oil and gas.
In 1999, he acted as special counsel to the Republic of Chile in its inaugural Sovereign Global Bond issuance. In 2005 he advised the sponsors of the Chilean LNG project, the first in South America, and in 2006, UBS as underwriter in the largest equity offering by a Chilean company to date. Mr. Morales is the honorary legal adviser to the British Embassy in Santiago, Chile. He has authored "Privatization in Latin America", LatinFinance, March 1991; "Mergers & Acquisitions", International Financial Law Review, April 1996, among other publications.
